How about writing your own tract? Don’t say, “But I can’t write,” say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Write out your testimony, and have a friend or two read it, and give their opinions. Then type your edited version one of these two documents.

Print some off and keep copies in your wallet or purse to give to old friends or people you meet with the words, “You may like to read this when you have a moment, I wrote it myself.”

Your testimony need not be super dramatic (ex. “I was a drug pusher and a mass murderer before coming to Christ…”) as most people can’t personally relate to such a story. A simple, but honest appraisal of yourself
before Christ may be much more effective than you realize.

Success Stories
Steps to evangelism:

Jesus told His disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations." To complete this task, Christians must evangelize, or bring the "good news," to everyone they meet. You don't need a pulpit to evangelize. Just follow these steps

  • Preparation
  1. Pray. It is only by spending time with God that you can accurately represent how good the good news really is.
  2. Know the scriptures. Read, study, meditate on and memorize passages from the Bible.
  3. Join a strong faith community that supports you with fellowship, advice and correction.
  • Building Relationships
  1. Meet people and get to know them. Ask them about their interests, how they arrived at their current place in life and where they hope to go.
  2. Talk to others about your own life. When this involves the specifics of how you live as a Christian, it is called a witness.
  3. Share your witness in small pieces. Even saying that you attend church every Sunday is a witness to many people.
  4. Put yourself in a position to answer questions. By witnessing in small ways, your friends and acquaintances will start to identify you with your faith. If they don't understand a Christian belief or a practice of yours, they may ask you.
  5. Use this opportunity to share more of your witness. Be sure to share the parts relevant to the question you were asked.
  6. Allow the other person to share, too. This will allow you to better focus your words to meet their needs.
  • The Next Level
  1. Anticipate the questions that people will ask. Think about your answers in advance.
  2. Learn how to set the foundations for Christianity. A knowledge of philosophy and apologetics can help you explain your beliefs.
  3. Continue your own spiritual growth. Go on retreat, fast and pray unceasingly.
