John
1:12-13
But as
many
as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children
of God, to those who believe
in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of
the will of man, but of God.
The Calvary
Chapel
Church has been formed as a fellowship of believers
in the
Lordship
of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and
to be conformed into His
image
by the
power
of the
Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational
church,
nor are
we opposed to denominations as such, only their
over
emphasis
of the
doctrinal differences that have led to the division
of the
Body
of Christ.
We believe that the only true basis of Christian
fellowship
is His
(Agape)
love, which is greater than any differences
we possess
and without
which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.
We Believe
worship
of
God
should
be
Spiritual.
Therefore:
We remain flexible and yielding to the
leading
of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship. We Believe worship
of
God
should
be
inspirational. Therefore:
we give
a great
place
to
music in our worship. We Believe worship of
God
should be intelligent. Therefore: Our services
are
designed with great emphasis upon teaching
the Word
of God so that He can instruct us on how He should be
worshipped. We
Believe worship of God is fruitful.
Therefore:
We look
for His love in our lives as the supreme manifestation
that we are we
are truly worshipping Him.
Pastor’s Perspective
That
I might know Him.... Jesus said in John 17:3, “This
is life eternal, that they might know thee the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Therefore
our ministry here at Calvary Chapel is focused on
the teaching of God’s Word so that each believer
might not only be saved but also develop a deep abiding
and real relationship with our true and living God
Jesus Christ. According to Jeremiah 9:23 & 24,
this is what is pleasing to our Lord above all else.
Our Beliefs
Salvation
Paul the
Apostle said in Romans 3:23, that we have all sinned
and come
short of the glory of God. In Romans 6:23 he wrote
that the
wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ
Jesus. To be saved we must forsake our sins, and
call on the
Lord Jesus to forgive us. Romans 10:13 says, " Whoever calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved."
A New Life
Salvation
is the
beginning of a new life in Jesus. Jesus said,
" Come to
me and
learn of me, and you will find rest for your
souls." In order
to grow
stronger in this new life in Jesus, we
must get
to know
Him. The only way to get to know Him is
by spending
time with
Him, by learning His Word. That is why
we encourage
every believer
to continue with us in studying
His written
word. Jesus
said, " By
this you
will know the truth,
and the
truth will
make you free."
